General prices
The advantage of my guiding service is our greatly reduced cost, We dont mark up our prices with fancy lodging, dining and trophy fees. We have a daily rate dependent on the trip were planning. I dont have any Trophy fees whatsoever as were hunting on public land which In my opinion, makes anything you shoot yours. My services are to be your guide, increase your chances of success to as high as possible and make sure your comfortable and safe in the backcountry.
Daily rate = $800USD
Taxidermy costs merely cover costs, primarily this is something when can discuss when we plan your hunt, theres a number of different ways to organize the preserving of your trophy, generally it’s easier to leave it to the taxidermist and you, though we will happily transport both you and your trophy and meat to the taxidermist and/or Butcher.
Custom Hunts
Don’t want to travel miles from home? or keen to hunt a particular game animal or a particular area? I’ve hunted all over the country and Can accommodate whatever kind of hunt you want. You might be a bow hunter, looking for an easier hunt or want to combine two hunts into one. I’m confident we can make a plan that suits.
Multiple people
Want to reduce the cost of your hunt? or just want your best hunting buddy to hunt with you. I’ll guide a maximum of two hunters on each hunt. This does of course mean you’ll have to share hunting opportunities but the advantage of reducing costs is very beneficial. Plus the likely outcome of making a new hunting buddy at the same time.
Tekapo Valley Hunts
The Two thumb range valleys are a premier Tahr hunting destination, red deer are also present but not nearly as abundant. This range is made up of high alpine tussock basins, exposed scree slopes and emerald lakes. It’s a great bowhunting destination with the ability to make several stalks in a day. In this open country expect to walk many kilometers per day and see alot of tahr in a day. In winter this area becomes much more treacherous and is better suited to rifle hunting from the valley floor or from the various alpine huts contained within it. Again, I cant promise a public land monster. But through the shear number of Tahr and use of optics we will be able to locate many mature representative animals.
